FAQs

I want to enrol my child into swimming lessons, where do I start?

Welcome! You’ve made a great choice getting your child ready to be confident in the water. We recommend looking at the Level Guides page of our website. This will assist you in choosing the correct level for your child. After you have found the correct level, head to our booking portal to find a class time that suits you.

When are payments required?

Payments are debited fortnightly through our secure portal. To secure a booking, card details are required at the time of booking. If you require an alternative arrangement, please contact our team on (08) 8210 4500 or info@oaksswimcentre.au

What level should I put my child in?

If your child is 3 or under, they will fall into one of our Stella Starfish levels where a parent is required in the water.

Crosby Crab levels are for children between 3-5 years who are ready to participate without a parent in the water. Sandy Seahorse and above are for children 5+.

If you require further assistance selecting a level after looking at our Level Guides page on our website, please contact our administration team.

How much are swimming lessons?

Learn to Swim

$20.00 per 30-minute lesson

Inclusive Swim

$55 per 30-minute lesson

What do I do if I can’t make it to a lesson?

To be eligible for a make-up lesson, we require at least 4 hours notice prior to the start time of the lesson. Any less than this time we will not be able to offer a make-up.

Make up lessons will be automatically added to your account when you cancel your lesson through the family portal.

How long does each lesson go for?

Each lesson goes for 30 minutes.

Are trial lessons offered?

We do not offer trial lessons, however, if you are not completely satisfied with the service after the first lesson we will offer a full refund for the booking fees paid.

When will my child be going up a level?

We evaluate each class on an ongoing basis. This is collaborative between our instructors and our supervisors. Each level has a specific set of skills they are required to perform before being able to graduate to the next level. We aim to assess each class once a month and update their skills checklist.

Do lessons run over the school holidays?

We run for 48 weeks per year, with breaks over Christmas and Easter. If you require an extended leave of absence, please contact our administration team.

What happens after Level 6?

Due to the small nature of our pool, we currently only offer up to Wanda Whale (Swim and Survive Level 6). If you are interested in continuing your swimming journey with us, we would love to hear from you.

To express your interest in enrolling into a higher level, please email info@oaksswimcentre.au and let us know what other amended programs you would like to see in our pool in the future.

What happens if lessons are cancelled by The Oaks Swim Centre?

If a class is cancelled by The Oaks Swim School due to unforeseen circumstances, make up lessons will be offered wherever possible. If rescheduling is not possible, a credit towards ongoing fees will be provided upon request.

Do you offer private lessons?

We currently offer private lessons through our Inclusive Swim program at a rate of $55 for a 30-minute lesson.

Can lessons be claimed via NDIS?

As this is a water safety service contributing to key social skills, most plans will cover the full costs of the service. Royal Life Saving SA are more than happy to provide a letter of support for any new plans and/or plan reviews.
